My Story

WOOF! My name is Amal, but the kind humans who visit call me Amoula which means 'little hope' in Arabic.

I am one of 7 pups who were born at the Buddah's Pack crowded shelter. My Mom, while pregnant, was chased almost to death, shot at, ears cropped, and tail broken by an abusive someone. I was never properly socialized due to the overwhelming number of dogs at the facility. So I am fearful, an ESCAPE ARTIST & nervous around people. My care takers keep talking about something called a tracker for me, just to keep me that extra teeny bit safer when I finally find my furever family. It did take me quite a while to feel safe around the kind humans who visit us and it was only recently, that I have started approaching & shyly accepting cuddles, so my future adopter will need to understand I will need time to decompress and trust.

With the big boys at the shelter, I obviously had to fend for myself in order to survive, which has added to my tiny but mighty attitude and I believe enhanced my cheetah like swiftness. But my big personality  is bound to get a lot more tamed down once I am well surrounded and learn that there is a safe place for me to lay my head.

My Ideal Family:

I would be best in a family with older kids in a house or apartment. A family with medium to high activity, who is ready to commit to train & socialize me with positive reinforcement.

Fun Fact about Amal from Carla:
During her spaying appointment, she ran away from the vet and Ittook the whole staff at the clinic and CWS member to catch her after 2 hours of chasing.
