My Story
Hi everyone!
My name is Elton – named after the Singer so I would Shine like a Star and So I did!
I am part of a litter of 7 pups and our mom Candy, a papillon mix, was saved by Buddah's Pack Shelter when she was in terrible shape: shot, ears cropped, had a broken tail and turned out to be pregnant. She gave birth to 7 healthy babies at the shelter, me being the cutest of course! Unfortunately growing up where we did with 80+ dogs none of us were properly socialized. At times I would hide away and never approach the humans who show up here to give treats and love to the other dogs, but not anymore!!! I'm thankful the kind ladies understood that I lived with the big boys in a crowded space where I was always needing to fend for myself... Constantly, they took their time with me, and boy am I happy that they did. I am now very expressive and sing my beautiful songs to the ladies when they come to the shelter! I think it's their favorite part of their visit! I really like to cuddle and snuggle... when the other dogs give me the chance, I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to have my very own human. I have really changed a lot in the past few months, just after being moved to the new facility and when the shelter became less crowded. Unfortunately, I have inherited the same medical condition my mom had and after my latest vet check and x-rays the humans found out that I had Patella luxation. I am also a parvo survivor!
On the 4th of Jan 2023, I successfully had my surgery done by Dr. Roy Hassoun and I am fully recovered at a foster home. I am ready for adoption and cannot wait until the day that I know what a full belly, a warm bed and a human of my very own to love feels like.
I underwent surgery for my luxating patella, and I healed wonderfully living with my rescuer!
My Ideal Family:
I would do well with a calm family with older children or a single adopter. I can easily live in an apartment or in a house with yard. Maybe one with a calm dog can give me the confidence I need to blossom, but I'd be perfectly content with being an only dog too.
